A wee Scottish woman with a big heart, and a story that refused to stay silent.
I’m Jeanie Gother. I share stories of survival, healing, and hope, because no one should feel alone in what they have lived through.
Step by step… forward is enough.

For many years, I carried parts of my story in silence.
I began writing because I wanted to give the younger Jeanie a voice. What started as a way to express my own experiences became something more: a way to reach someone who might be feeling as alone as I once did.
01 · THE LIFE I LIVED
My story includes childhood trauma, homelessness, cancer, and the long journey towards recovery. Those experiences are part of my life, but they are not the whole of it. There has also been love, courage, laughter, friendship, and hope.
02 · THE VOICE I FOUND
Writing gave me a way to speak to the younger Jeanie—the little girl who had so much to say but did not always feel able to speak. Page by page, I began to understand my story differently.
03 · WHY I SHARE IT
I share my story to help survivors of abuse and cancer feel seen and heard. I cannot walk another person’s path for them, but I can offer an honest voice and a reminder that change is possible.
“The hard chapters are part of the story. They are not the ending.”
Truth
Naming what happened can be the beginning of reclaiming your voice.
Courage
Moving forward does not require pretending the past did not happen.
Connection
An honest story can help someone else feel less alone.
Hope
Change can begin with one small, meaningful step.
You deserve to be heard.
I do not share my story because every journey is the same. I share it because no one should have to believe they are the only one. If something here speaks to your own experience, I hope it reminds you that another chapter is possible.
